  • Contour HD test against the Vado HD 2nd Gen

Truth is the Contour HD is SAD! Poor low light video and soft. I don't see how they get away saying its HD.

With some clever thought you can mount the Vado HD 2nd Gen any place you can mount the Contour HD using their mounting systems.

In the end its about the video. The Vado runs circles around the Contour at half the price.

see my post on youtube search dagwodzz

  • Just got one and all my movies are more like stop action. Tried lowest rez and different computers. Why won't it play smooth? The thing constantly misses 1-2 second gaps in actions. Very dissapointing.

  • Also, remember this is YouTube. The video quality has been knocked down a bit thanks to YT's compression. I've done some videos with one that aren't online.. they look -very- darn good when not compressed! You have to see a 'raw' ContourHD video to really know what it's capable of

  • @obtrunco: The background looks fuzzy because of VholdR's choice to make the ContourHD with a wide-angle lens of 135º. If you look at the video it's quality is still well above what most videos are, especially when people hand-hold sd cameras, cell-phones, and similar devices to record a trip!

Trust me, as a user of a ContourHD I can vouch for their video quality. You just need -very- good lighting, an have to live with fuzziness at the edges. Good enough trade for me!

  • Looks good overall but Contour HD seems to film simulated HD because images in the background look fuzzy.

  • ok thats awesome. please do some more, with other bikes on some sick twisty road!! haha..

  • very nice.
