AEG kWh meter with Eastern Arabic numerals on the dial and nameplate. 220 V 30 A 50 Hz 375 rev/kWh.
This meter is running under different load conditions ( 3 to 60 Ampères ) hence speed increases and decreases of the disc.

  • Persian number system; possibly the oldest number system still in use.

  • Great to see those numbers it on the numberwheels of the meter.

  • Just out of interest, How many turns does the wheel need to make, so that the meter registers one kWh? That's either a high-revving meter you have there, or you're going to get one massive electricity bill! Look at it go!! What was being loaded on the meter when you filmed it? Do you know how many watts were being pulled to make the meter go that fast?

  • The meter disc constant is 375 revs / kWh. The load varied between 7 and 62 Amps at 220 Volts. About 13.6 kW.
