Pearl Jam - Corduroy - Live in San Francisco, Outside Lands 8-28-09

Pearl Jam - Corduroy - San Francisco, Live, Outside Lands Festival Friday 8-28-09 HD, 4th row, the Polo Fields at Golden Gate Park. The concert later turned into more of a sing-a-long w/ Pearl Jam, but fortunately, since this was the 4th song performed only a few were actually singing. In later songs, the audience often drowns out Vedder's voice.

Once again, the ergonomics of the Flip Ultra HD gets me. Of course, it didn't help that center stage was packed and many were dancing and crowd surfing. On the bright side though, it's 1280 x 720 HD and records in Stereo. I actually had a VIP ticket for the show, but the General Admission area was closer to the stage and standing spots were easily available if you got there for the early shows. Autolux, Incubus and the Silversun Pickups played on the same stage.

Other highlights include:

Eddie Vedder recalling how the Polo Fields bring back a lot of memories, as 15 years ago, he was supposed to play here, but the day before he got food poisoning, and had to cancel his performance. Luckily, however, his friend Neil Young stepped in to fill his shoes. And for that, he is forever grateful to him for saving the show and for putting himself out there in front of a potentially hostile crowd. Yep, I remember that concert all too well. :P

Thanks! I was originally worried that being too close might distort the audio (for example, for one concert I was standing right next to the subwoofer), but fortunately, the sound came out great. I think cameras have also advanced well, and fortunately the Flip Ultra HD is one of the few that records in Stereo, not Mono, which helps.

I drove through San Fransisco a few days before the concert and was soooooo bummed that i missed it by so little!!!!!
