  • Yes, this is the best version, indeed! Anderson's voice is not only capable of the deepest low notes, but it's also still tender and gentle, beautiful and warm, managing to sound feminine even in the lowest notes. Besides, she not only sings the thrilling notes perfectly, she also gives them great depth of meaning. The best contralto ever IMO.

  • So beautiful!!!!!! Brings tears to the eye at the same time it brings joy to the soul. She was SUCH a consumate artist. I am completely enthralled.

  • That note is D3, great

  • In my opinion this is the best version of this lied.Marian Anderson's voice is absolutely unique!

  • Wonderful, I enjoy it.

  • This is a song/lieder not an aria!

  • Nobody sings this piece of music like her!!(With the deep notes at the end-in "fen") She is the only one(alt) with this vibrato and low notes.

  • brava!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • this song is magnificent i really liked it coming from the school of Jared C. Bruce Academy i love your back ground and how you were held out of the united states because of your ethnicity or racial cause.....

  • Thinking about Schubert Lieder Anderson (who has a remarkable and beautifull voice) is not the first one who comes in mind. But this is very touching: the last phrase of the maiden 'und rühre mich nicht an!' and then the comforting voice of the death. Thank you very much for this contribution. Greetings from the Netherlands. RH
