2008 SCTA Land Speed Races

My son Liam, my Dad and I went out to El Mirage dry lake on Sat., May 17th to see the Southern California Timing Association land speed races. The SCTA are the same people who put on speed week at the Bonneville salt flats. The cars and bikes at at El Mirage top out at ~300 miles per hour, with a special session during mid-week for the 300-350 MPH cars. At Bonneville they can go as fast as +700 MPH! This video is just a few of the highlights.

Great video, terrible music.
Listening to these race machines running at full song is music to my ears. Please, please be so kind and remove the music. Also, during your next visit to El Mirage, invest in a tripod. Will allow for better video recording.

Why ruin an otherwise excellent video with inappropriate and quite unnecessary music? The sweet music of those howling engines is all the music this video needs.
