His chance analogy with the coin is nonesense. in the macroscopic world you could exactly predict a coin toss, alright. but in the world of quantum mechanics you can't. if i gave someone 2 radioactive nuclei, there is absolutely no way of telling which one is going to decay first and why. so at the very, very small scale, everything is in fact determined by chance.

Turning it on its head: If we are created simply on the whim, and as the playthings of, an intelligent being, where is our dignity? Our lives would be utterly meaningless, as we could make no meaning for them ourselves, it would simply be imposed upon us.

@Purushadasa This may be an old comment, but the magnitude of its factual error has not decreased. As long as an imbalance isn't created in the universe, it can do whatever it wants, c'est a dire: from nothing may come pairs of particles which mirror each other exactly, if recombined, they cease to exist. They add up to nothing, from nothing has come nothing, in total, but this nothing is made up of two opposite somethings.

@klaanderson3 As I said, God is an idea, not an actual being. It doesn't exist. Not the Christian god or any of the thousands of other gods that people have believed in or do believe in. You really should broaden your perspective. To claim superiority just because you believe something that you want to be true doesn't make it true or right and frankly makes you come across as a bit of an ass. Jesus would be displeased.

@klaanderson3 LOL! And to think I could be as arrogant as you if I only believed in a god.
-
@JamesMorlan ...man is so arrogant to presume they could ever create God...Hum?
-
@JamesMorlan ...so sad to be so arrogant...silly one!

@klaanderson3 said, "I dare you to prove the bible wrong."
You must be new to YouTube. And the Internet. Poke around a bit. It won't take long. Really.

@klaanderson3 Of course science cannot account for Intelligent Design, for Intelligent Design is just another name for Creationism, an idea that is not supported by any evidence. Science is evidence-based. Your claim of the existence of God presumes that a god exists, but no one has yet established that; insufficient evidence. Man created God, not the other way around. God is an idea, and it is used as a crutch to fill in the gaps where people do not yet understand.

@klaanderson3 Where'd the "stuff" of the primal egg cosmology theory (aka, big bang) come from? I don't know. And neither do you. Calling Ben Stein an imbecile is neither nice nor otherwise, it's simply the truth. I do know the bible, and the prophecies ... well, you show me in the OT where the messiah was to "be called a Nazarene." Matthew 2:23. I DO take it seriously; I'm seriously concerned about mass delusions.
Also, spontaneous appearance ex nihilo is a theory that would require the suspension of natural law in order to be implemented in reality. In other words, atheist dogma requires a miracle to be true.

@drumrnva You have failed to establish your personal belief that the suspension of natural laws is unsupported by evidence.
Logical evidence for the suspension of natural law is that all laws contain information and therefore must necessarily have an intelligent lawgiver, and the lawgiver has the authority to suspend his own laws, just as no king is ever subject to his own laws, but his laws are always subject to his will.
Same applies to all natural laws.
atheist total fail
