There is no such thing as "clean coal"

But there is wind power that is cheaper than Coal power. (and we will not run out of wind)

The only objection to wind turbines? Some people think they are ugly. I think coal is far more ugly.

Yeah,but you cant convince the Don Blankenship brainwashed morons that if they would just use underground mining it would mean more jobs for longer periods of work. No,Blankenship and Massey have convinced West Virginians that democrats will destroy mining when,in fact,democrats have long championed WV and mining. They just prefer workers to have rights,clean coal technology and miner safety!! People will sit around and let it get right back to the old days of coal camps,stores and such.

I love the folks who freak out in fear of losing electricity? It is so irrational. This country is famous for innovation. I'm sure we could do a lot better than destroying an entire region in 25-30 years to produce electric. All we need is the political will. And do these people even think of what electricity they really need to use? Maybe they need to plug in fourteen electric razors, seven freezers and a fake fireplace?

After watching all the videos and seeing the commitment to ending MTR of the people of Appalachia I'm trying very hard to use less electricity. I have a computer, but I have rules when i will use it now. And I have a lights out time at night. If I want to have light after this I use candles. This might seem absurd, but what is happening is beyond belief. I live in a 3 room apartment and don't pay my own utlities, otherwise I would get green energy. So I am determined to cut my electric...

So you idiots want to take away a major industry in Appalachia, one of the poorest areas of the country? You want to buy some Chinese-made turbines and shut down the lifeline of poor coal miners? What are the poor to do? What about the batteries needed for wind power? What about the dead birds produced by the turbines? What about soaring electricity prices and brownouts?

Lots of outrage, but even more unanswered questions.

You can't have wind farms in WV or Sw Va or Kentucky or Tenn without ridges to put them on.

That is not true. Yes burning coal is universally dirty I am not going to dispute that. So what makes it clean coal? After the coal is burned the green house gases and other "dirty" partials are collected before they can be released into the atmosphere. They are then sequestered into the earth in a scientifically proven safe way.
