Apparently the Archbishop thinks he can flex his muscles by calling on St. Louis' finest to intimidate peaceful protestors outside the Cathedral Basilica on Sunday December 13th.

Catholic Action Network and Show Me No Hate has been showing up in front of the church for the past two Sunday's without incident and today the Police supervisor with badge name "Hurt" showed up to intimidate Catholics and non-Catholics. The police claim the protestors were causing traffic 911 complaints. The video shows that at no time were any of the protestors in the street. They were by their parked cars, no different than what they did the previous weeks. Why on this Sunday were they threatened to move back? I suspect the Archbishop was involved in pressuring the police to intimidate.

In the video, the officer returned and told the protestor to prepare for his arrest. Officer Hurt said the protestor was violating a city ordinance that says people must obey a police officer. (Scratching head)

Like with past Sunday protests, cars drove by honking and cheering in support of the protestors. They were signaling their anger with Archbishop Carlson wasting $10,000 St. Louis Catholic dollars at a time when the Archdiocese cut back staff positions and services.

In another obvious example of intimidation, many of these cars were later pulled over and harassed by the very same officer in this video. They were threatened with tickets for honking their horns.

  • can you apply for a permit to protest in the same manner in the same spot?

  • We do not need to apply for any permit. We have the right to protest on that sidewalk and based on the past two Sunday's, we also had the right to be near our cars with signs. Remember this was only 4 people with signs near their cars and about 50 others on the sidewalk.

  • Can't be in the street? Get on top of your car. That'll attract some attention AND it's your property. EFF them guys!
