...At first I thought this was supposed to start with an artistically silent section. It took me four and a half minutes to realise my earphone plug had come out.

On top of that. We are all people that are far more destructive than any piece of plastic. Our ability to hurt and destroy has written history and will continue to do so. I think we should focus on more important matters like bullying, debt and education. Not that this film isn't informative. I just get all bent out of shape when I see poetic exaggerations get more attention than they likely deserve. I reckon thats just something I need to work on. Peace.

Yes I know, I am not defending the fact that plastic is a bad problem. I was simply stating that these sorts of artistic projects do not focus on the real issues. I respect this film and I really enjoyed it. I just do not think people should embrace something without knowing the full truth. Not everyone litters and people benefit from these things more than they are hurt. Even at the expense of the environment. It sucks but this is reality. I don't like reality its filled with hypocrites.

Plastic will photo-degrade, which means it breaks down into smaller pieces, but it is still plastic with all the chemicals, etc. It is killing animals and sea life and polluting our oceans. Every major ocean has a gyre of floating plastic, some as big as the state of Texas.

Sorry but I do say "not so long a time." In truth it does take a while. I know I have witnessed it myself. Especially if the bag is baking in the hot sun. After a while it begins to basically melt and become brittle like a rotten piece of paper. It crumbles. I have witnessed it fall a part and crushed it with my own fingers. I am pretty sure my own experience is not false information. Peace.

I think you're the one with false information, plastic doesn't rot, maybe you used biodegradable plastic made of bioethanol, most plastic bags used today don't rot, I wish they would, but they don't.

Sooooo... is this film maker saying that plastic bags don't rot? Because they totally do and they do it rapidly. Especially do to sun light. I mean all you have to do is stick a plastic bag on a pole or weigh it down with something and leave it outside to watch it. With in not so long a time the bag is as brittle as dirt itself. Not that I support littering or pollution or any message that would counter taking care of our Earth but this film lingers on false ideas. Beautifully shot though.
