  • There is a live "remastered" (yes it´s strange) version of the song recorded in 1987 (probably in Oslo) which is very good and where the first notes of the intro are very different.

  • @babaoriley1971able Thank you for the answer, found a live video of it from 2002 here on YT. Thanks! :) It was very demanding for Ian in 2002, so they only did it on the Russian and UK legs of the 2002 tour apparently.

  • @SilverTounge85 No, the last time they played ''Child In Time'' was in 2002.....

  • Unfortunately you can hear the tape back up during the higher part of the scream. Gillan did a good job but he's using tape backup.

  • C'mon now..without Blackmore they just arent deep purple....Thats like Van Halen without Eddie

  • After 1995 DP stopped playing Child in Time, besides (as far as I know) One small russian leg of the tour in 2002, that's where Don Airey replaced Lord, after that he finally joined permanently. I don't know any other times they did it.

Blackmore's Night did it sometimes XD

  • Be sure to check out 'Child In Time' from 1994, with Satriani on guitar, and from Bombay 1995 with Steve. Those brilliant guitarist proved there was life after Blackmore threw in the towel. Was the 1995 leg of the 'Battle Rages On' tour, the last time the band did 'Child In Time'?

  • I can finally watch a video of 'Child In Time', from the reunion tour. Thank you! Ian really did the vocals well here I think.

Why are so many people bitching about who's better, who's best? Deep Purple is more than Blackmore, everyone know that. Everyone who have been a part of Deep Purple, past or present has brought something great to this legendary band. Stop the fighting and enjoy the music. Rock on!
