I have a very old lincoln welder and it works like new! when you mass produce sometimes things slip by,over all lincoln makes some of the best equip. in the world.

I tried one of these lincoln machines and it was garbage as well. I took it back exchanged it and the replacement didn't even power up. so I got my money back and bought a chinese harbor freight equivelent for a small fraction of the price and it has worked flawlessly for over a year of heavy use. come on USA I know we can do better than this.

Lovely!
The larger Lincolns are excellent, but that..thing...isn't impressive.
Weirdly, the SMALLER cheap SP Lincolns seem to last a very long time too.

Bought myself a Millermatic 140 for Christmas, fired it up yesterday for the first time in spite of the bad weather no problems there :) Sometimes you will get a bad batch,it's just the luck of the draw.
some explanation of WHERE this round thing is and what function it's supposed to perform would help a *lot*. are we looking at one of the wire feed rolls? if so, I can't see the other one, or even where the other one would BE mounted ...
ok, so it's a bit noisy, and wobbly some. my guess is at LEAST the geartrain of your welder is made in china. HOWEVER, does the machine weld OK with it like is is NOW? or, what problem is the wobble CAUSING exactly? movie's a bit vague on specifics...

@hardwares1 The wire tension was inconsistent, the wire feed speed was inconsistent, and the wire would slip out of the groves. It was a faulty $900 piece so shit. Should have gone with a millermatic. If you want one hell of a welder though, you would be smart to go with an esab.

Absolutely, i took it back that day, got a new one, but still had the same issue. So, i had them replace the entire drive motor/gears. its not supposed to make hardly any noise, and it sure as hell isin't supposed to wobble!!
