  • Fascinating. I wonder what Bush thinks now about the impact on his family. Although he does not strike me as one who would worry about spilt milk.

  • These same dynamics are there for children of successful fathers, not only presidents. Very interesting material.

  • Cock and flaw diba?

  • Very interesting material. Loved the insider info from the primary sources, presidents family members. Very cool.

  • ah..GOOD OL DOUG..THe best campaign advisor ever !.. Always smiling and making media eat their unfounded claims.. RON PAUL real lucky his got this man on his camp regardless of the outcome..GO RON PAUL TEAM 2012 !

  • Did Doug and Dubya enjoy some good wead(sic) back then?

  • This was a great book that filled an important niche. I enjoyed the first person information from presidents Carter, Ford and Bush. Very insightful.

  • This is a fascinating study. The book is a classic.

  • I think that regardless of how you judge the presidencies, the senior Bushes were great parents. They seemed to have the right balance between discipline and teaching and love and it shows in the success and individuality in their kids. For all the comments on George W. and his ongoing issues with his dad, he was well adjusted enough to get elected twice to the presidency. I would feel proud of that if I were a parent.

  • Matt Lauer used to do more of these interviews and the Today Show was in its hey day. He is good because he has natural curiosity.

  • Children of presidents have a mixed bag. Advantages and disadvantages.

  • Yeah, Bush Jr. was always depressed the Jeb was such a success, while he never did anything right, and Bush Sr. criticized him for having no ambition, acting badly (the "Bush family" had a whole lot of expectations), and basically not living up to his father. I always wind up feeling sorry for every crappy president, even Nixon.
