This skips having to kill all of those petrasyls.

This is a bit challenging at first, but after a while you get the hang of it. Drop a bomb along the black outline of the "ceiling". Stay on the bomb, then allow it to propel you up through the floor. You won't go completely through, however, so you have to boost your way higher in order to reach the top. You could also try to DBJ (double bomb jump) instead of bomb to boost.

Position yourself in biped right in front of the blue panels on the wall. Go to morph ball and plant a bomb. Once it propels you up, morph back into biped and hop onto the top blue panel. You won't stay on there long, so quickly make your way across it while floating to the left and jump onto the higher platform. This skips having to take the elevator.

This skips the entire bar wasp scene.
2:03
Skip having to activate the moving platform and take a complete detour with a simple missile-push. Note that sometimes a hunter or some guardians will appear in this area, so be careful.

This one is a bit tricky; it took me a while to figure out. Activate the jumppad by shooting the switch and keep jumping on it. Turn on the scan visor and stay locked onto the scan machine above, and scan a bit each time you jump up. The least amount of times it takes to complete the scan is 2, but it will take more based on whether or not you accidentally lock onto something else. Anyways, once the machine is scanned, you can simply get the shield key and claim the artifact. This skips the annoying voldrum battle in the next room. (To completely deactivate the voldrum battle I suggest going back to the ship and saving, because based on where you step it might just start again.)

This is a bit tricky to do, and if you watched my speed run, you'll see that on the way back across the area, I messed up big time. The trick is to make sure you don't activate that moving platform. To do so, get as close to the edge of the ground you're on, without touching the platform. Jump over the platform diagonally onto the ledge, and go into MB. Roll to the arch, switch to biped, and check to see if you're frozen. If you're frozen, you accidentally activated the moving platform. If not, keep going and jump across, then move through the rest in MB. Same goes for when coming back to Subterranean. This skips the dramatically slow moving platform, and all of those annoying enemies in the area. Another way to skip it is to jump over the platform and roll around in the dark water, which damages you.

If you happen to kill Sylux before his ship arrives, you'll activate the "Invisible Ship". At 3:31, you'll notice how you hear the ship "leaving" the area. Well, it's really taking a pit stop in there. At 3:38 you'll hear a missile, and that's the ship attempting to shoot you. It's pretty cool to see the Delano 7 in stealth mode.

The most fun glitch/sequence break of them all. Not. =| I still have a hard time getting through this one. have the magmaul equipped in the UA area of your weapons, but still have the PB in use. Roll into the alt tunnel until the very end. Slowly, very slowly (until you feel secure enough to take a risk) go to the tip of the ledge. Let yourself gently fall off, but right before you DO fall off, hold the back (down on D-pad) button and enter Biped. If done correctly, you'll see the same thing at 4:25. Now, to make sure you're still in that tunnel, keep holding down on the D-pad. Shoot the door open with the PB then switch to magmaul (or missiles, whatever you want) and charge it up. Here's the hardest part: jump over the hole and "across the other side", but once you think you're in the center of the two ledges, move up. It's hard to explain, but if you get the feeling right you'll get up there perfectly. Keep holding down on the D-pad, and propel yourself up with that charged missile/magmaul. (If you jumped high enough, you don't need to propel up at all.) Now you'll be on the ledge of the MB door, so charge another magmaul or missile and push yourself into that tunnel. Now, you can either enter the next room in MB and continue normally, or you can do it the fun way and stay in biped. To stay in biped, open the door with a PB shot and missile/MM-push yourself out. Tada! This skips that long, boring MB maze with the lava and the pushing blocks.
4:46 to end: Please just ignore the last minute of this video. For some reason iMovie included a minute of black screen at the end, sorry.
Note that I do not take any credit for these tricks, as I didn't find a single one. Credit goes to most of the people at metroid2002.com. I don't have each person's name, sorry.
Oh, and Segment 1 of my sub-1:19 any% run will be up very, very soon. =)
