Anyone who grew up on Canada's west coast in the mid-sixties will remember this pop-psych nugget from Vancouver boy Tom Northcott . . . it topped the charts during the summer of '67.

  • My favourite song.... just love it, and will never tire of hearing it. Thanks for the post. I am so happy I was around and listening to this music when it came out. This one, for me, captures the summer of '67 more than any other.

  • Thanks for the memories. I remember 1967 very well, especially North of 4th Kits where I grew up and remember the "aromas" well. A few pictures are not accurate; some of the buildings downtown weren't built yet. But that's OK. This video does an excellent job of resurrecting the FEELING of 1967 and that's all the counts.

  • Brings back memories, 4th. Avenue, Be-ins Stanley Park, Vancouver became Bay Area North. I had long hair then, now have grandchildren and collect my pensions. We were young once in the summer of 67.

    Thanks for the song,excellent audio.

  • Thanks for the great song and pictures of beautiful grand old Vancouver. Not that it matters but the picture at 2:14 is from the late 80s or later by the way. I know someone that lives in one of the buildings shown and it wasn't built until 1986. This same area was shown earlier in the video with many less buildings; that picture is definitely from the 60s. By the way, does anyone know why the people at the PNE were protesting something in the one picture?

The song has re-appeared just recently.
