  • WTF ? Saying about Maxim and showing Vickers MG ? Buhahahahhaa ... they could show for example Browning instead ;)

  • Well the Vickers is a Maxim variant from the UK, like most of the early machine guns were variations of the Maxim. What's the big deal?

  • what the heck is "rapid fire history"

  • That's the name of the show

  • @Suomipanzerdiv13 First of all don't revive 2 year old discussions.

Secondly I knew to which MG he was referring to but he is still wrong. Both guns showed up first in 1911 and I was merely asking how got the impression that "the Lewis gun come out before that French piece of Shit"

  • @Kettch23 Hes reffering to the unreliable french chauchat light machine gun.

  • I still wouldn't want to face a Maxim/Vickers today no matter what I was carrying.

  • Man, the chauchat was the worst gun of all time. The parts weren't made equally and were of different metals. They thought it was a good idea to have large holes in the mag to let dirty in trench warfare. The bipod was also 3ft long and prone to bending. What a piece of shit. I hate to think of the amount of soldiers that died from trying get that gun working.

  • Discovery can be so bad, a german with an american helmet and a maxim version used 20 years before the ww1 shoots at a british guy , on the battlefield of ww1 two types of guns were used machine guns and bolt action rifles and they show an m1 garand^^ and all these historian dont see that

  • weitzman, nusbacher.....^^

  • so he's a man by now?

  • Dr Nusbacher is actually an academic. I have seen him in a few documentaries and also he has been a part editor in a few books I have. All on ww1 military history
