I totally agree! It was a shame that he never got to see just how famous his work would become! I just love it and learned about it because it was the #1 song in the month that I was born. I began reading up about him - so great!

This,along with many other songs were recorded at the Lousiana State Penitentiary,also known as Angola,in 1933.Its funny how so many songs are sampled after Lead Belly's songs.He is a true musician.
