  • you and your curve talk! i think its about time i said exactly why i watch your videos.. i find them raw.. honest.. sensitive yet at the same time... it doesnt appear like you are trying to be 'nice'.. you come across as a really awesome guy....i actually learn quite a bit that i would never be introduced to in my 'everyday' life... that and i think your smile and wink thing is damn hot! xXx

  • Why try to be nice when you can just be nice. And thank you I try to be as honest as possible.

  • i totally know what you mean...i only just found out about all this stuff..but i do believe its just an attraction thing..like muscly guys, or freckles...yeah theres people who take it to an extreme but you find that with anything...;)

  • Frankly, I don't see a great distinction between this kind of behaviour and fetishism, insofar as the person to whom the devotee is attracted in both cases is being objectified prior to establishing an emotional connection, which I think is what caretaker was wary about as well.

In any case, I respect your articulate and well-considered response, but cannot help but end on the question: must a person be a devotee to be attracted to someone with a disability? Seems reductive, no?

  • This is where devotees lose me, and where I become offended when over a dozen YouTube users subscribe to my page and comment on my limblessness/my disability without ever addressing the content of my videos, which has not yet been concerned with disability issues. To get back to the analogy you offered, this would be the equivalent of a brunette devotee commenting on every brown haired girl's vlog with "Your hair is amazing." (cont'd)

  • I'm still suspect about this devotee business, Pink. I get hazy when you define a devotee as someone who has a physical preference for the disabled. This opens up a can of worms re: what comes first, the person or the disability, chicken or the egg, and so on. For instance, you use the attraction to a brunette woman as an analogy, but I think for the analogy to hold up, you would have to, say, participate in forums devoted to brunettes, look for brunette YouTube videos, etc. (cont'd)

  • ......wow ..thats all I can say ...wow

  • Thanks for that, You've made my day! :)

  • hey can i have that link to "that forum"?

  • I'm glad you made that distinction between devotee and disability fetishist.

  • I just wanted to say, I saw you first on "that forum," and you are so sweet! Thank you! That was a great explanation. And yeah? The curves talk? Evil, evil, evil. Lol.

  • Come back to PD, we miss you! :o) (and also are in need of some intelligent discussion)

You are awesome...you just GET IT. Thanks for taking the time to stick up for us.
