@ryw06 Abraham Lincoln suffered from bipolar disorder, many successful people have Bipolar Disorder, it is not a death sentence, my group facilitator used to deem it as the Caddilac of mental illnesses, it is better than having unipolar depression or schizophrenia which can be far more debilatating.

You are very sweet and suffering with mental illness myself I grinds you down and you want it to stop. In regard to your psychotic behavour which although odd to some don`t feel guilty for it if you do. I have had the same , my son got a kite caught in a phone line once and to say I overeacted is an under statement but at the time I thought it was normal behavour but after the event I realised I had shouted created the worst scenareos in my head etc and felt exhausted and drained + scared !

Thanks a lot for sharing. I also have the diagnosis bipolar, my stay in the psychiatry (5 weeks) was relatively helpful. As you point it, most helpful, was realising, that I am not alone, I found a good friend in the clinic, who is also bipolar. One positive result was the good medication (quilonorm ( 2 1/2 and seroquel (200 mg) against mania and cypralex (10-20) against depression. It took some months until I was stable, I stopped drinking alcool strictly and try to run 3-4 times a week.

I tried to deal with it to, I did not want a label on me eaither, I went thirty years fighting the fight I could not battle alone, I had to seek help, I did not know what was wrong with me, the doctor told me, your thirty years old and had this all of your life and did not know what was going on, it's a wonder you did not hurt somebody, for years I tried to hide I had problems, I am thrity five. I am better today. The actor Patty Duke has Bi-Polar Disorder.
The people that you weren't sure why they were there probably had borderline personality disorder. That's what i have and was diagnosed several times with bipolar. I'm saying they probably had that because when i would be in the hospital and nurses, etc would see me, they would be like "why are you here?" lol

@JustABitchyCancer Yeah I think a lot of people were dealing with depression because they just seemed down and most of them did not want to discuss what they were going through with the groups.

I learned that there are so many celebrities with Bipolar. Even so many that I actually like. Like ex, Catherine Zeta Jones and Kurt Cobain. I was diagnosed bipolar on August 14,2011. Sucks and is embarrassing.

@ryw06 Don't feel too bad. It's nothing to be embarrassed about. It just takes time to deal with the diagnosis, I have found.
