federer is only number 1 in points not in tennis play the race is what you need to look at not the rankings it will come soon dont worry nadal fans, p.s. well done murray really happy for him a big week but nadal is further thn any1 atm and will win the tourno fair play to him

This is why Nadal will be number one prior to the US Open.
Current points:
Feds = 6,600
Rafa = 5,830
Next week points:
Feds = 6,255
Rafa = 6,105 (if he wins against kiefer)
Rafa = 5,955 (if he loses against kiefer)
Difference of either 150 or 300. Also, Feds has 500 points to defend in Cincy and Rafa only has 5 points to defend. Therefore, Rafa will be #1 heading into U.S. Open. Feds will hang on to his dear life, and rest of the field, please do something to get in the mix!

nadal dosent need to win the us open, hes less than 800 points behind, u get 500 points for a nongrand slam and 1000 for a grand slam, federer is on 6600, nadal is on 5830, so to yous so called tennis fans plse shut up, and hes has 4 tournaments not inluding the us open.he wil be no.1 easy for rafa

Fed had 770 points b4 Rogers cup. he lost in 2nd Rd & so he didnt gain any point. But, if Nadal wins the final 2morrow, then he would have 500 points which means he is just 270 points behind the Fedex.
So, if he does well in cincinatti / olympics and roger doesnt fare that well then there is a very gud chance of Nadal becoming the No.1 before US open.
I love both, Roger & Rafa. They both are truly great champions.
