that number is kinda low for your ranger... when i had mine on the dyno i got 46.9 whp ( 4th gear with the 4od, or 5 speed trans) with a corresponding tq of 73ft pounds... but you know as well as i do a diesel dosnt make peak tq at peak hp.

@Spoonstube1 Yeah i agree with you. I suspect it is low because they didn't have a tach probe for it, and sense the ranger doesn't have a tach on it they were just estimating the RPM's it as running.

What is your altitude? My 83 ranger smokes like a frieght train up here at 3200 feet. Yours doesnt seem to smoke all that bad especially for the load that was being placed upon it.

@rt707 We are at sea level. It always hazes, it doesn't roll coal exactly, just always hazes.

We used a 84 Ford f250 4x4 for a shop truck.
When the Engine finally pooped out.
Ed built a core engine out a School bus with 7.3 pump and injectors
in the 6.9 block. It really ran good.
That little Truck is some ugly Jake.

@JJKHaywood Yeah the 6.9 and 7.3 idi's are great engines. Just not exactly a powerhouse compared to all the new ones. I like mine though. I agree the ranger is horrible looking.
