I learned these songs back in high school. They do bring back memories of the simple life - dreaming about the future while walking along the beach from school. These songs playing in the neighborhood. What bliss!

TI AYAT TI MAYSA NGA UBING
The love of a little child
Is sweeter than jasmine
Like a flower just budding forth
in the month of April
The love of an old man
especially when senile
is bitter, bitter, bitter
and makes you quiver.

BANATIRAN
Little bird, your feather is the purest
Your plan, i won't allow
You wanna be a part,
but where are you going?
which branch will you stay on?

DUNGDUNGWEN KANTO
I will caress you so...
I'll swing you on a netted hammock
i'll rock you gently,
Before you know, you will fall asleep.

Ouch, my heart, ouch, ouch...
Such pity, such pain
Please grant me refuge
Coz I am miserable when abandoned.

PAMULINAWEN
Listen to my heart
This one summoning
wants to be by your side
Think, i will not play around
When i think of you, my heart is at rest.

Your grace I can't forget
Your virginal name
Wherever i am, whatever place
I am calling your sweetest name;
When I remember you,
My heart finds rest.

BABBALASANG
Here in the Ilocos Region
the yong ladies are beautiful,
Meek, and have fine ways and feelings
It's true, beleive that these Ilocanas
have simple lives but their eharts and love
have no equal.

LUBI-LUBI
January, February, March, April, May
June, July, August, September, October
November, december, hodge-podge!
Let's go join inthe hodge-podge
at the house of Mr. Sylvester
Everyone is invited tot he hodg-podge
because hodge-podge tastes so good.

O NARANIAG A BULAN
O bright moon, heed my pleas
Your bright light, please don't refuse to share
o bright moon, heed my pleas
Please light my dark pathways
So that I do not get lost.

MANANG BIDAY
Miss Biday please open your window
To look at the one you captivated
I'm going to die, if you do not have compassion.
Who are you who keeps passing by
My garden, where I play
You know that I am still single
The lily's flower has not yet bloomed.
