One of .my favorite Cars songs. Created the background track in Reason then played along with it. It's a bit to high for me vocally but thought I'd try it in it's original key.
The background shots are of a local junk yard along with video from local drives. The end shot is the long tunnel drive in through a granite mountain in Yosemite. Had some friends who visited in a convertible so I recorded the lights as we drove through.
This is sweet! Relaxed my entire body! Thank you.

I love your voice, especially for this song, it fits.

For some reason I get the impression that this is a love lament for an obsolete automobile gone without his driver for a long drive home at night. I'm tickled by the angelic hallos and know that the auto misses you too, Teri. Not to worry: a Maserti may come along eventually. Or better yet, how 'bout a vintage Avante in mint condition? :p

@sarah55413 ===yes sarah--I probably won't get it. Such smarminess transcends my comprehension, just like the kol nidre, eating Haman's Ears and the unbridled stupidity of forced multiracial "diversity" escapes me too.

@Gravelandart Without question I am disposable, but I was actually using irony in describing this song as disposable. I actually meant the opposite. But I don't expect you to get it.

SARAH THERE IS NOTHING DISPOSABLE ABOUT THIS "POP" SONG.....ACTUALLY LOTS OF JAZZ AND RAO ARE DISPOSABLE.......maybe you are disposable too

Genius! You have this indescribable ability to take (disposable) pop songs and make us take a second look. Yes, they are that deep and meaningful. Beyond anyone else, you are a true artist.. Bravo!!!!!!

You are amazing.
This song is painful for me, it reminds me of the worst time of my life. Yet, your version wiped away the old associations, and I heard it with new ears again.
The original song was a flash in the pan: Sure, it hit number one, but then it quickly disappeared into irrelevancy. You rediscovered something special about it.
I love this interpretation. You constantly surprise me. I wish we were neighbors. I would be over there all the time.
