  • So if you eat low carb and no junk food.....it's ok to consume more than 300mg of cholesterol a day with no ill effects? The Mayo clinic says to keep it under 300 per day

  • I tried to RAISE my otherwise normal(158-160) cholesterol level. over last year I consumed high fat diet including saturated animal fat, that means, lots of sour cream, butter, whole milk, hamburgers, red meat, whole eggs. I followed the diet now for exactly a year, and a few days ago had my lipid panel done. I failed. My cholesterol is virtually the same at 154. My LDL got lower 98 from 108 a year ago. My HDL("good chol.") was always low 43 versus 39 last year. This was uncontrolled study.

  • Please keep up the Good Work Gary.

  • Hi! Have you considered intellectus 424 diet (do a google search)? Ive heard some incredible things about it and my cousin lost crazy amounts of weight with it.

  • @hadsell1962 That's amazing! Awesome stuff.

  • @Esoparagon Absolutely right - A high carbohydrate diet gave me a stroke, heart disease and cancer. I stopped the carbs. drank a bottle of cod liver oil everyday and took high doses of Algae. I am cancer free, have no heart disease and my brain is 100% recovered - PROOF!!

  • Eventually the truth prevails.

  • Gray, please keep up the great work you are doing.Thank you very much!

  • I have read his book and followed the science and lost weight

  • Gary Taubes changed my life with his 2002 article, "What if Its All Been a Big Fat Lie". I lost 60 pounds easily, my cholesterol has always been great - stayed around the 150s the entire time and I enjoyed it and felt great.

Lesson -- we are all different and have to pay attention to what works and doesn't work for us despite the conventional wisdom. I am grateful to Taubes for taking the time to lay out the science so that those who are willing to listen and learn can save their own lives
