I can't believe how many people take Newman's songs for face value. This song was written from the perspective of a lunatic who hates short people, it isn't him writing a song about his own disgust towards shorter people.. The amount of morons out there is astounding.

@mattshu1 That's the point. He hasn't forgotten. He uses a hate spewing song about short people to demonstrate the ludicrous nature of prejudice. Detach Newman from the song and imagine some idiot standing outside a polling station in a military style uniform wielding a stick and screaming "You gon' hafta kill some midgets! You gon' hafta kill summa they babies!" It's all wrong, but many folks can't see that until they hear the same rhetoric about someone they don't hate.

I moved a lot as a kid and no matter where I would move someone would sing this song to me. I'm grown and still 4 foot 10 inches. I have always liked being short and I like this song. It's easier for me because I'm female.

Pfft. I liked Randy's irony before it was mainstream. /joke Randy is just plain hilarious for those of us intelligent enough to appreciate what he's saying in such a ridiculous way. Humour at its finest - you just don't see things like this anymore.
