  • i,ve just spotted a mistake in the music at .45 the third beat he plays Ab F G not four Gs as written .I wonder if there are any more.

  • @srt619

do you think mclaughlin can play scarified by paul gilbert ?

  • guitarist Jeff Beck called him "the best guitarist alive"

  • just about the best song to steal licks from the melody,, is charlie parkers donna lee

  • it is often hard to steal from jazz great's solos, because a lot of it is passing notes, but should give a person great ideas,,,,a good example of something to steal and transpose to all keys is intro of dizzy gillespie's bebop,

  • @Willsq This is Jazz......This IS what Jazz is....If this was a Sax or Piano solo this is what you would expect......The same for Jazz [Fusion] Guitar. It is about [True] IMPROVISATION That is its core skill....This is why it is a Niche market compared to the market for the Pop/Rock star ......it is an acquired Educated taste and understanding....Try listening to Miles Davis, John Coltrane,Mcoy Tyner, Charlie Parker etc and you will understand what is going on here.....

  • He changed it! And it still hasn't caught up yet!

  • just like that

  • regarding the tune from 3:47 it would be much better to write this in 6/8 time. I am sure John didn't write this down in 4/4, it was written by a stupid programm. If it was written in 6/8 time there would be no "false triplets". Though mathematically correct the sheet is totally crazy.

  • here's a guy who really changed things. brilliant musician.
