love this man's work, insights, particularly his two books "Learned Optimism" and "Authentic Happiness." Though I don't think he gives a lot of attention or value to spirituality in a more traditional or religious sense, his linking together of optimism with character strength is an incredible contribution to the realm of human wellness and improvement — great to see this video, and this channel
@ryanaliv Painting Seligman as a dog torturer is a bit harsh. ,His use of animal test subjects was for a single study he was involved in during his graduate work in the 1960's. I think we can cut the guy some slack, because it was very common to use animals during this time and he hasn't used the method since as better methods have been developed.
