Part two of our Japan Trip videos - This one covers days 3.5 - 4 of the trip. We continue from Ueno Park to Asakusa, the Asahi Beer Headquarters near the Sumida River, checked out a parade, ate some conveyor belt sushi, went to the Sensoji Temple and Nakamise shopping street, Karinamon Gate, ate at a nearby food street then made our way to Tokyo Tower.

The next day we pretty much went back to the Food Show and shopped around Shibuya all day before making our way back to Ameyoko for some food.

  • just a quick question explain about the customs i have read abit but since you have went

  • @swedishseal01 I guess a couple of small things you might notice is how you don't really hand money directly to someone - you put it on a small cash tray and they pick it up form there. Also like when you stand on an escalator you always stand on the one side if you're not walking to leave the other lane open and lining up in general I guess (there's lots of it). Also, it's kind of impolite to talk on the subway and everyone keeps quiet. I guess when in doubt just see what everyone else does.

  • What kind of balls was she eating at the beginning of the video? And is it always crowded like that every single day?

  • @MarkCEO09 It's called takoyaki, an octopus ball that they grill up on this special griddle to make it into the ball shape. It's one of our favorite street foods and they have it all over the place there like hot dog stands.

It's pretty busy at Ueno park, I think all year around. It's a pretty big public area at major train station and lots of attractions and parks there. That was right across from the train station.

  • Great video !! , Just like to ask what time does Tokyo Tower close ? , I was thinking of going there wat daytime but now after seeing this video it will be even better at night ! :P

  • @Superman240706 When we were there it closed at 10. I'd suggest going way before that if you plan to go to the upper level. We wanted to but the wait was just too long - about 1 hr at the time.

For the day time you could check out the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building. There's two free observatories on the top floors of each tower, plus a tourist center there too for free maps and walking guides. About 10 min walk from Shinjuku station and very useful. You can see Mt. Fuji from there too!

  • This reminds me of scenes from Jet Set Radio Future for the Xbox, they picked the scenes out perfectly like Shibuya Terminal. Great video!

  • @conrifor No, not at all lol. Don't sweat because the subway, maps and pretty much all the street signs are in English as well. Most restaurants have displays of food and menus in English too - and in the worst case you can just point, which is what we did. Just go for it, you won't regret it.
