I pay 30% in income tax and I make 60 thousand a year. Sanders is absolutely right. Why the hell are we talking about cutting social security medicare and medicaid. Those programs make up less than 1% of the budget. When is someone going to step up and end the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy, pass the Buffett Rule, and finally cut what bankrupts the living hell out of this country, the military. Tax breaks for the 1% and an out of control military budget. Seriously, get a reality check.

The Buffett rule would have absolutely no effect on Warren Buffett. Do your research! He doesn't pay income taxes because he doesn't make income, he makes capital gains. You also want to make a law based on lies. No one that makes $60,000 a year pays 30% in income taxes, if you don't believe me, read the tax charts. Also, we are going to make laws from a guy that owes $1 billion in back taxes. Give me a break!

I am European, but lived 6 years in the USA. I found it very sad to see that a lot of Americans have to work 3 jobs just to make ends meed...............and it was very disturbing to see that a college education is often very expensive in the US. Smart people should be able to make a Master or Ph.D without paying a fortune..............same rules for all............not only the rich should get good education and thus get even richer........................­..

The bill was prevented from coming to a vote by a Republican filibuster.

And to answer your question, the Democrats will need a 61 vote majority, since Limp-Dick Mitch has made it standard procedure that nothing passes the Senate without a super-majority.
