Fun times I have a 98 ZR2 myself and I have taken that thing where it had no business going and its still going just ask the Miami 4 Wheelers club from Ohio about 5 to 7 years ago

a locker is a type of rear differential. a "standard differential" allows one wheel to spin at a time. a "limited slip differential" allows power to both wheels at different rates as necessary when in turns, but powers both equally in a straight line. a locker, either automatic like the one here (locks by itself) or a manually controlled one, has the option to act like the limited slip differential when open and to power both wheels equally (causing outstanding traction) when locked.
