Atheism is just another religion

Do atheists take their beliefs to a spiritual level? Like in any other religion, some do some do not. . .

A true Atheist wouldn't put out any thoughts about God or religion.

Oh, almost forgot. Atheism is in no way a religion. It does not meet the requirements of any definition of religion that I have ever seen. It does not have a belief system, any dogma, we do not worship anything, etc. The only thing atheists share in common is a disbelief in religion. Although, calling it a religion is a great way to piss off an atheist XD

A few thoughts came to mind as you wondered about an athiest future. You ask what we would be praising and what would keep us going day to day. I think your viewpoint is of course through the looking glass of a religious person.

Ask an atheist and they will probably tell you that they dont need a higher purpose to get through their day. They dont need to praise anything to have a purpose. To a religious person this seems terrible but only because it is so important to them.

u hit the nail on the head. people (leaders) manipulate beliefs to suit their own purposes, they have their own agendas and that is what leads to war. it doesn't matter what the beliefs are. the 20th century has already proven that atheistic ideas can be manipulated in the same way.

I see belief as a filter that one overlays in their perception in order to emmulate. Works great outwardly, but inwardly it is meaningless. The brain may evolve, but the mind can not. We say, 'i believe in this' which really means that you associate yourself with that thing. It is an attempt of the mind to evolve, it is taking the outward task/reward system and trying to use it inwardly, not seeing that it is completely futile and meaningless for the mind to evolve (not referring to the brain).

Right, we are so used to do things 'for something'. This is where the question arises, 'is there an action without a cause?'

Were accustomed to receiving reward for actions. And of course there is nothing wrong with this physically. We need to see that our work is being paid off, or we dont take that certain action.

But psychologically i see no need for belief; no objective in the inquiry. It is not inquiry with a goal... it has no objective and therefore is extremely and ultimately sensitive.
