There are 3 parts to this video. This is Part 3.
Wendy is from Australia, Tanti is Indonesian. They are taking a course in Rudolf Steiner color theory at BCAC in Ubud, Bali. Watch them spontaneously improvise to develop paintings on canvas using a variety of materials and techniques, such as pure liquid pigments, glue, string, strips of unprimed canvas and spray lacquer, dripping pigment onto wet canvas, blowing through straws, spraying water and lacquer into the image, dripping acrylic glue into wet pigment and so on. They choose a single color, i.e., shades of blue (Tanti) or specific pair of colors, i.e., orange and violet (Wendy) from the outset. The paintings evolve organically, drawing on classic surrealist automatist technique, free association and improvisation. Finally the two women attempt to interpret each other's work. To their surprise, they are astonishingly perceptive and accurate and in reading, or decoding meaning.
