  • well, in my country, we call that gymnastics. someone should really stop the parents and trainer of this kid from putting false bravado into him. and why exactly would people show their kids around like this, this strucks me like one of this twisted children-miss-elections.

  • @robertgaudlitz Why false bravado? Except for the backtuck, the form is based in tae kwon do. Nothing wrong with kids demonstrating their skills, no one is forcing him - he loves it. It's now about 3 yrs past this clip. He's turning 13 soon and qualifies for a 3rd Degree BlackBelt which he will obtain when testing comes up in the fall. It is far from twisted for kids to learn self-confidence.

  • @jregnide based in taekwon-do? i am a tkd black belt myself, and i don`t know a ryu that looks like that. but i take your word for it.

children learning self-confidence, i could not be happier, in my opinion, every child should study an art to get to know itself, become healthy and strong and learn to defend itself.

but i am afraid that, when push comes to shove, this dancing will get children hurt.

the march `10 mat ratz graduation from the academy of combat. look it up, i loeved that one :)

  • @robertgaudlitz thanks, I'll look that up. As you know then, this "dancing" is used for muscle memory training. Also, what is taught in the states differs from elsewhere. His instruction is being overseen by a former Head Instructor for Jhoon Rhee. His discipline includes tkd combined with some hapkito & moy tai. As for getting hurt, he took some lumps early on but no one challenges him currently. Last contest in the ring, he went undefeated, defeating 13 opponents in a row.

  • i wish i could do that, my dad was a master at martial arts and he taught me he died when i was 12, now that he cant teach me i have to go to school, i envy him in a way that his parents care about his martial arts, ive always wanted to be a martial artist, right now im a blue stripe but in kungfu im black belt. i weigh 90lbs and i lift more then myself, by the way he has great kicks:) i am really good at kicks too, well nice video and good luck, stick with it and very nice form i love it.....:)

  • He just did a demo @ our local minor league baseball stadium w/his demo team. I'll put that video here shortly. Good luck with your studies. Do you compete anywhere?
