It is for now sometime this fall it will be towed to Texas where it's last port of call will be the scrap yard. The Saratoga was one of America's first "Super Carriers" and saw a lot of action throughout her service. Although it is sad she will not live on as a museum as had been promised for almost 10 years, her spirit will live on forever. The USS Saratoga Association will be holding the 59th reunion this September and I'm sure there will be much discussion over Sara's ultimate fate.

Thanks for watching the video. This year's reunion is in New Orleans and next year is in San Diego. One of the venues under consideration for a reunion in 2 years is Jacksonville. Very coastal.
The venue in the video is locally known as the Monumental City. Nowhere else but Washington DC are there more memorials dedicated to the military. Far from boring to the participants who attended.
