News report which features Brassard and his Montreal clinic on 13 Nov. 2008. I found the following written testimony on a m-t-f transsexual website. It proves once more that when one chooses Brassard to perform surgeries, disaster is looming large!

My Montreal "Experience" by knitgal 2001

I had surgery with Dr, Brassard this past August, and if I had to do it all over again I definitely would NOT go back to Montreal. My problems with my "Montreal experience" were many. First, Compared to the Davis Medical Center in S.F. where I had surgery with Dr. Ousterhout, I felt that the clinic was down right primitive. People complained that the nursing staff in SF was unresponsive, well, they were light years ahead of the staff at Montreal, unless of course, you conversed at least partially in French with them. My roommate spoke some French, and received far more attention from the nurses. I don't want it to sound like I'm picking on the nurses, I started nursing school this September, and compared to the nurses if SF, the nurses in the hospitals here in NY, and from the nursing students I go to school with, the care from the nurses in Montreal just plain sucked. The beds are manual, and they got all pissy every time you used you call button to have you bed adjusted, when I did only when the position got too uncomfortable to bear. I gave up after a while and just staggered out of bed to do it myself. The consistently made the top sheet on the bed too tight and left no room for me to move my feet, which I was told I had to do to help prevent clotting. This brings me to another gripe. Prior to my surgery, I asked Br. Brassard if the used the flowtronics (I was not exactly sure what they were called at that time, but I described them to the doctor accurately) on your legs to keep the blood circulating, and he assured me that they did, which they definitely did not.

I could have lived with all the above and not griped, but I had complications with my surgery. I was not as upset about the complications, as I was about their whole attitude about it. I had a lot of postoperative swelling, which eventually caused dehiscence of the suture line in my left labia majora. I was sent home with an open 3" incision, which was stretch open about the size of a silver dollar at the top. I received no instruction on care for my wound except to keep it clean. duh! I was completely black and blue from my waist to my knees. I was black and blue all over my left arm because the anesthesiologist missed the vein on my skinny veiny arm. When I me with Dr Brassard the day before I left, all he had to say was. "Sorry you had problems, but the operation went perfectly." Jeez. I wasn't looking to point blame, I was looking for advice and direction on what to do, which I didn't get. I asked him if I needed to find a surgeon for follow up care, and he said no, that I was fine and everything would heal itself.

I was so upset by the whole experience I left Montreal in tears, bleeding a significant amount of blood, with a Foley still in place. When I returned to New York, I had to find a new GP because mine had just left the insurance plan, and was too far away to drive with the way I felt. My new GP ran some tests and immediately sent me to a plastic surgeon to look at the wound. The surgeon debrided necrotic tissue from the vestibule, removed a large hematoma under the pubic mons, and inserted a Penrose drain to drain the excess blood. When the tests came back, my wbc's, neutrophils, platelets, and sedimentation rate were through the roof. My rbc's, hematocrit, hemoglobin, lymphocytes and monocytes were all way below normal. I was put on the 1000 mg of Augmentin b.i.d., and 400 mg of Tequin q.d., to get rid of the raging infection. I passed out three times the first week I was back, including once in the shower. I thought it was all over then. I've had my urethra dilated with a catheter 4 times by a urologist because it keeps developing a stricture, and I get this extremely narrow urine stream, which sprays all over. 4 1/2 months post-op and I still have a lump of tissue just above my clitoris, which gives me an unsightly profile, and I have no feeling inside my vagina except burning sensation when I dilate. It is also ugly as sin. This definitely was not what I was expecting. I just thought you should hear from one of those who was not so thrilled with her surgery from Dr. Brassard.

Another bad comment for Brassard:

By: Stacy
I had my surgery with Dr. Brassard, unfortunately it was against my will. I had changed my mind at the last minute and was medicated and then sent to surgery without proper consent. What he did was unethical, and illegal. Think twice before you choose him. Feel free to email me for details.

  • dr brassard is the best

  • @lolitasantos1000 He certainly isn't!

  • I hesitate reading some if what you wrote because it almost sounds made up. I can't imagine any surgeon leaving you as you describe. But I do know patients with unrealistic expectations. But without knowing you I won't dispute you. I can just say that i was concerned because I was 60 yes old when I went to him and I have diabetes and other problems. I was treated fantastically and my outcomes were great, probably because I followed his directions to the letter. The other 2 dozen girls that were

  • @cautiouskate is just as bad as one who's not confident enough;it's a big zero. Furthermore, the way he treated me is despicable. He told me he would do the revision if I was still not happy with the results a year after the surgery. When the time came to discuss the touch up, he reneged on his word. He hadn't even consulted my file and thought he had operated on me twice already! He couldn't even find the pics of my nose on his computer and during consultation admitted himself the surgery

  • @cautiouskate was a failure. Those were his exact words, and I will remember them for as long as I live ''Yes, Mr. Giroux, you are the nose that I drag.'' What kind of fucking asshole admits to his failure all the while refusing to fix his mistake. Oh,and he was so unpleasant and pompous during our meeting, reproaching me my dissactisfaction. It was unbelievable. What was I supposed to do, grin from ear to ear? Anyway, I hope the way he treated me lays heavily on his conscience,as it should.

  • Thank you for the review on Brassard. I would be interested in your Ousterhout experience, are you happy with the results and did you have any complications?

  • @LikesTruth I saw the real Dr. Brassard after he messed up my nose, and he is an asshole. I will never forgive him for what he did and I hope he rots in hell for all the wrong he did too so many. Now, I have too many things to take care of, but once I'm ready, I will delve into this much further. I WILL NEVER LET HIM FORGET WHAT HE DID. THE PAIN AND DESPAIR HE'S CAUSED ME.

  • @cautiouskate Continued: If he was unable to do it, he should have told me, as every doctor I went to wanted to do my nose. And tell me, which doctor will take pictures of the area or body part to operate just before the patient goes into the operating room? Can you tell me that? I've had more than a dozens sugeries done by 7 different doctors, only Brassard and one who does only liposucction (a general practitionner) did not take pictures during a consultation. A doctor who's too confident

  • @cautiouskate Believe me, everything I wrote is the truth, down to the last letter. When you ask for a straight nose and you get something even more turned-up and feminine, this is certainly not a surgery we can call a success. Fortunately, I found another doctor to correct Brassard's mess, but I will need another touch up to have what he did corrected. My expectations were more than realistic, and to the last minute Brassard sustained it was a surgery ''far from unfeasable.'' If he was
