Australia's best known Geologist, Ian Plimer, Professor of Mining Geology at The University of Adelaide and Emeritus Professor of Earth Sciences at The University of Melbourne, has just published his seventh book titled "Heaven and Earth, Global Warming: The Missing Science".

In an extensive interview with Brian Carlton, the Professor gives the background on this book as well as providing insights into the reasons why he believes that the concerns of the "climate change" crusaders is a "load of hot air".

  • pseudotruth, Monbiot didn't "own" Plimer, he interrupted him and pestered him with cliches. Plimer should have, and could have put him in his place, but Monbiot was disrespectful and I think Plimer didn't want to give him an answer to acknowledge him whatsoever. Monbiot is an idiot who makes a good show but has nothing to back him up accept irrational cliched arguments and harking back to data from the IPCC known to be distorted. The history of this movement is sickening.

Youtube won't allow you to put in direct links (anti-spam measure), so I had to put some spaces in there.

If you paste a link then remove all the spaces you will see the article. I think one link has a space at the end of it.

  • they don't work sorry - threads for forums...

Satellite data show mean global sea levels have risen about 50mm since 1993.

The Arctic sea ice is thinning:

Greenland & Antarctica are also losing ice:

Glaciers both calve & melt. All else being equal, an increase in precipitation (snowfall) will cause the glacier to grow. This may mean more calving but there will still be a net increase in volume.

The retreat of glaciers is a global phenomenon, and it reflects higher mean air temperatures.

  • glaciers are not retreating, they are calving. BIG difference, calfing is the breaking off of ice not from 'melting' but from creeping, due to the added mass from increased precipitation. NASA shows the overall mass of ice is increasing. also the sea level isn't shown to be rising, also from satellite data, which is much more reliable than terrestrial data.

  • Yes his interests in mining could be call for concern, that however is beside the point. He brings sourced evidence that is being ignored by the few dictators that are running this cash cow. I would tend to uphold the words and citations of a geologist over a politician any day of the week.

  • Also the director of three mining companies. He claims there's no conflict of interest however.

Plimer was OWNED by Monbiot on ABC, the ever arrogant Plimer was shown to be a fraud. Plimer lies about CO2 from volcanoes, the lies again and gets repeatedly caught-out when tested against the science.

And these lies were in the list that you claimed were inadequate! Were you being dishonest, or just incompetent? Give an honest answer! [this time]

Any vestige of Plimer's credibility has been torn to shreds.
