I suffered from acromegaly for the majority of my life although it wasn't diagnosed until I was nineteen. It was difficult for doctors to see anything different about me because for me it did not cause gigantism. Any symptoms that I had because of the disease were unfortunately treated as separate issues, like my thick hair growth and vicious acne. I always knew something was wrong with me, that I was different, and told the doctors I thought there was something in my brain. I was right.
