Since this BMW is plastic (Like the X5 SUV) I don't consider it a "BMW". It's more like a glamourized Saturn than a German luxury car.

  • LOOOL this kid's ridiculous. First off it's a higher grade plastic than it would be aluminum. Secondly, the body shel means nothing when it comes to the car's rigidity or how it will handle an accident.

  • If you are talking about what I had said, then you don't really get my point.

  • What IS your point then?

  • In my honest opinion, a proper luxury car should be built with aluminum. To me, plastic panels on a car reminds me too much of what Saturns used to be.

  • it's meant to save weight, not to save money. and the fenders protect just as much as an aluminum counterpart. they still get dented unlike the saturn's which are dent-proof

  • I don't think you get my point.

  • @Shark00n1337 Actually, I highly doubt that plastic was used on the front quaterpanels to save weight. Identical spec full-out plastic and aluminum bumpers (entire bumpers) weigh almost the same, plastic has a slight edge of about 2 lbs). On a smaller section like the front quaterpanel, that difference is negligible at best... This was done purely as a cost cutting procedure. If they really did it for weight savings, they wouldn't use plastic, but Fiberglass...

  • this car, better than the japanese cars , if u driving a toyota or nissan or honda or even any japanese car , U WILL BE DEAD BY NOW , so shut the hell up every one

  • It twists and pops back in low speed impacts. In high speed it makes no difference whatsoever

  • What a piece of Shit. Only their brain less fanboys will defend this garbage to no end. Luxury brands should make every panel of aluminum. Period. That crap about using plastic panels in order to save weight is bullshit.

  • @Shark00n1337 Ugh dude, a BMW is the pure definition of a " luxury " car ...

  • @Shark00n1337 Yeah BMW definitely is not They are only the number 1 selling Luxury Car Company in the United States!!

  • @CarPro1993 Lol, a BMW is NOT a luxury car.

  • @Shark00n1337 thank you, that's basically what i was implying

  • The Plastic panel can withstand a small fender bender without a scratch because it is flexible unlike traditional metal ones . and the look is exactly the same as the metal.
