NEW R2D2

My R2 unit....here it is. Voice activated! No remotes.I have added some little modifications so its not really the one you can buy in the shops any more. Also I am very happy with how it was lit during filming, I think under this light r2 looks rather nice. It was shot using a green screen ( you can see it pretty clearly in some shots!) with one light only. The music I made myself so it should remain audible.

Q. Do you have this r2 unit? Does it make a noise like its trying to move,but doesnt go any where- then just glides along smoothely as per norm? mine does... what it it trying to do???? sounds like its a stuck servo or somthing. My r2 has no problems moving , so why would it make such a noise.?....

i know this is years late but....it sounds like it is in follow me mode but you are still. I think its the motors jittering in response to flakey IR distance reading.

When it does that it has inadvertently gone into follow me mode. Put your hand to the heat sensor and you'll see how he reacts. You just have to double tap his head to reset.

i have also the same problem with my R2 it's kinda sounds like the head servo is trying to focus on something.

i have one... just thinking of other mods for it. i was thinking of putting in another sonar module in his foot or lower in his body so he doesn't hit shoes and other lower objects. any other ideas what to do to him?
