Before we begin, I would like to thank the Lord Jesus Christ for my life, and all the gifts which I've been given in it, including the ability to make this extension. Your name be glorified, my Savior, even in something as small as this. Amen.

The darkness beckons. Can you take up arms against this final, nefarious scourge, or will Filgaia's existence be swallowed by an unending nightmare? Time to find out in this, the latest episode of Amateur Extension Theater 2000! I'm your gunslinging bird-scoundrel of a host, Alkahest.

Developed by Media.Vision and published by Sony Computer Entertainment, Wild Arms 3 (Wild Arms Advanced 3rd in Japan) follows the adventures of the idealistic Virginia Maxwell, as she heads out into the barren wastes of Filgaia. Meaning only to prove herself as a Drifter, adventurers who travel on wings like a migratory bird through the wasteland, Virginia soon finds herself drawn into a journey that will reveal secrets of the bygone ages, leading to conflict with rival drifters, false prophets, and a terrifying Blue Menace...

... but perhaps the most menacing threat of all, is the one you cannot see, which has been there all along. 'Losing the Inescapable Nightmare, an Unending Reality' is the second-to-last final boss theme of the game, played when you battle the true enemy who has been manipulating the events of the game from the very beginning in order to enact a bold scheme that will destroy Filgaia, and create it anew in a twisted, nightmarish form.

I don't mind telling you, I heard this amazing battle theme long before I played the game itself, and expected it to be played during an epic High Noon-esque showdown; this is one of Michiko Naruke's finest compositions, and easily fits in the Top 5 category. The actual boss it represents may have disappointed me, but certainly not this theme, no sir!

And pardon the vagueness, but the identity of the boss in question is such a huge spoiler, I don't feel comfortable revealing it even after all these years. I just wish I could tell you it was Janus Cascade back for one last duel with the 'Princess', eh heh heh.

Coming up next on AET2k: resurrected time triggers, used boat salesmen, and a love theme for pirates. Hope you enjoy, gang!
