Jeffrey Mongrain, sculptor and professor of art at Hunter College, will team up in this collaborative residency with Nicholas Kripal, professor ceramics at the Tyler School of Art. Each artist creates site-specific works that explore spirituality and the scared in place. The two artists will create a new body of work during this residency. Jeffrey's brother, James Mongrain, will work as the gaffer for this collaboration. James is a leader in the field of blown glass in the Pacific Northwest, nationally recognized for his innovations in the tradition of Venetian goblet making. He is the owner of Mongrain Glass Studio Inc. in Mukilteo, WA.
