  • It is a great aircraft. I will miss it. Worked with it for 7 yrs. Very sad to see it go.

  • @Jetenginethrust crushed to death - Im sorry

  • As an A&P mechanic I worked on them for ten+ yrs here in San Antonio. It was love/hate. I loved the look of them & going out on engine runs. It was awesome hearing & feeling the power of all 4 engines at full power standing outside just under the nose gear! Best time with a UPS DC-8 was going on a test flight. Worst was one of my co-workers getting crushed to death by a thrust reverser inside a UPS airplane eng in the main hangar & during 9/11 attacks I was working on the #2 eng of a UPS DC-8.

  • They busted enough pods on landing for sure. Leader of the pack!!!

  • I can imagine how those guys felt. Like the one guy said, it's like an old friend. You take care of it, and it will take care of you! Nice, yet emotional video. I have always liked the DC-8 jet, and I will miss it too just as they will.

  • what flight engenieer?? it will not exist anynmore?

  • Why I have never seen this plane on Schiphol. I'm a trucker in the aircargo and drive 2 years for UPS in the nightshift

  • What a wonderful job it must have been to fly the mighty stretch, or any 8! Best wishes to the crews that flew them for UPS! Nice work!, you will be sorely missed overhead and making short finals into EWR!

  • Sad to see. Gone are the days of watching aircraft and hearing loud jet noise as a favorite pastime. Everything looks like a form of 737 and boring to watch over time. Thanks for the great video!! I miss them all. DC-8, 9, 10, 707, 727 UGH!!! sad.

  • Awesome
