What happened to Pluto?

"Scientists had two choices. Let newly discovered Planets in or kick Pluto out. When my big brother was in the 3rd grade a couple years ago, they taught that Pluto was a member of the Solar System, but now, I'm in 3rd Grade and my school work says there's only 8 Planets in the Solar System. Can you believe it?"
