These fantastic sound sculptures were one of the star attractions at Weston-super-mare in the summer of 2010.
They are absolutely brilliant sculptures which feature many famous people from history and television shows, also are included famous buildings and caricatures from children's and fun television programmes in the UK.
The sculptures are crafted from the sand from the beach here at Weston-super-Mare.
To prevent the sculptures from being damaged rain and wind they are treated every night with a special solution that keeps the sand grains bonded together and watertight.
To appreciate the size of the sand castings you need to take a look at some of the pictures were people are stuck close to the sand castings.
This will give you a really good idea of the actual size and the amount of work and care that has gone into producing these wonderful works of art made purely from sand.
These type of exhibitions are exhibited all around the world by travelling sculptures who specialise in this type of art form.
Everyone who has been into the exhibition have been amazed at how clever and wonderful these sand carvings really are.
The staff at Weston-super-Mare were extremely knowledgeable, friendly and helpful which made the whole experience a much nicer.
Our initial impression was that it appeared slightly expensive to go into the exhibition.
However once you were inside and realise just how much work, care and attention had been spent on producing these wonderful sand carvings, you quickly realised that the price of the admission was worth every penny.
My wife and I really hope that next year another sand sculpture exhibition will take place at Weston-super-Mare.
Weston-super-Mare is a lovely seaside resort that has been undergoing a major facelift for the enjoyment of visitors to this lovely resort.
I'm sure the people at Weston-super-Mare are really proud of all the work that has been done in the town.
We are regular visitors to Weston-super-Mare and we enjoy everything about the town and its lovely surroundings.
We hope you enjoy looking at this video especially if you were unable to see the carvings in real life.
If the sculptures are available again next year we would strongly recommend that anyone who has not seen them before would come along and enjoy these lovely sand carvings.
