Here's another two-rolled-into-one video.
This first quick clip shows NS 334 East rolling across the Valley Grove Road grade crossing and the defect detector there in Clay County, AL. This very scenic location is between Parkdale in Coosa County and Hollins in Clay County.
The second, longer video shows the EARY (Eastern Alabama Railway) switching on their main line at Gantts Jct. (Sylacauga), AL. The have a sizable yard there just outside of the Imery's marble quarry, and do a lot of back and forth switching moves. This line you see here is the southern-most portion of the L&N's Alabama Mineral Belt line. This line swung South out of Gadsden, AL and went through Anniston, Talladega, Sylacauga and the West crossing the Coosa River and into Calera, AL where it joined the S&NA Subdivision. The Heart of Dixie Railroad Museum in Calera is in the process of re-building this main line from their location back East to Shelby, AL, which I believe is a distance of about 8 miles, making it possible for 16 mile round trip excursions.
Woot first comment! Its great i love all your vids!
