Officials reviewed the footage and worked out all the positions. Transponders is not how a car finishes, it is whether the car crossed the finished line. He had braked and was passed is how it was determined. His placement was based on when his nose crossed the line not , not that it had crossed the line.

yeah bad deal when someone is crashing in front of you and you hit the brakes to avoid running him over but even if it went by the front tires instead of the transponder he was in 5th or 6th by the time he got to the line

Cole got fucked out of a 3rd place spot. He clearly had a tire over the line at the finish before the official pushed his car back about 2 or 3 feet. I was told they do transponder scoring but in a finish like this I think video should clearly over rule a transponder. Especially when trying to say a car didn't cross the line when it clearly did. I guess a rule is a rule though even when it sucks. I still say Whitt got fucked out of a 3rd place spot.
