Windows 7 & Diablo - Color Fix

When launching the game Diablo under Windows 7, almost all users experience problems with color. Alot of "fixes" out there require a batch script that kills explorer.exe and restarts it after you exit diablo.exe. That method works, but is NOT ideal.

This method is a very simple fix which works for a majority of users, it involves opening the screen on Windows 7 that allows you to change your resolution. Why this works is currently unknown at this time. It should also work for other legacy Blizzard games such as the Starcraft series.

@Fungeski good to know. Everyone should be on 1.09 anyhow, so many bug fixes compared to retail release or even the Hellfire patch

fast question, where did you download the diablo 1 itself?

i tried to download it couple of times, but when the download is finished it turns out to be a VLC program X.x...

Do you have any idea about how to run the game with no CD like one of the latest patches for d2 allows you to do?

@LSP55 Try a website called "game copy world" it has patches that allow you to run it without the disc.

For VISTA or Windows 7, this worked for me. It seems to be an issue linked to your windows theme setting.

Right click desktop

Personalize

Theme

Change it to Windows classic.

@blooddunkey kid if you dont know how to pirate a game and run the actual program then fuck off. its illegal for a reason. i own the game and it still doesnt work. plus there is no crack for this game. if there was i would use it like i do on all my other games.

It didn't work for me at first but then I changed my desktop background to a solid black color and it worked fine! :)

Holy crap! It works after changing your theme to classic, so keep that in mind. Thank you for allowing us old gamers keep the classics alive!
