Because Bluts and Needles got changed just recently. Both can randomly crit, but needles give you an extra 2 hp/sec regen, so medic regen scales from 3-6, while with Bluts, scales from 1-4. Since medics don't fight that often, the passive 2hp/sec outweighs the occasional 3 hp/hit, esp since needles are a pain to aim.
You have to remember that most of these guys have been playing online games for over 10 years. Also, if you think you're not improving, try changing your settings. Mouse sensitivity, crosshairs, getting enough fps, a better mouse etc.
I've been gaming online since 2001 (and have been a gamer for 17 years). I have a 1600 DPI laser mouse and constantly tweak the sensitivity. Also, my rig has no problems maintaining 60FPS maxed-out @ 1680x1050 w/4xAA 16xAF. So I guarantee you it's not my hardware or experience that's the problem. I simply plain-out suck at video games compared to these guys.
