Gun magazines and clips are NOT the same thing.

A major annoyance to many gun owners who care to speak accurately about firearms is when people say 'clip' when they are talking about a firearm's 'magazine'.

We took a few moments to make this short video to help illustrate the differences between a 10 round AR15 'stripper clip' vs the AR15 30 round 'box magazine'

Ignore this one if you don't care, or if you already know the difference, but we hope those interested in speaking accurately about guns will appreciate this quick video explanation

  • Hate to burst your bubble, but your only half right. If you want to get technical those are stripper clips like you say, your title says just clips.

Chargers, also known as stripper clips, load the magazine, and example would be what you had shown or chargers for a mosin nagant that fit into a guide machined into the gun that charge the magazine.

Clips will fit completely into the gun itself, an example would be en bloc clips the Garand uses or revolver moon clips.

    Thanks

burst your own bubble with how wrong you are

  • Hey i actualy had the police at my house today as i found a spent mag on the side of the road and on the report. They wrote magazine clip. The reason people call them clips is because it clips into place. It is not people being wronk it is lungo.

  • @rangask8er

Wrong is wrong.. just because someone who should know the difference doesn't, does not make it right

  • @BasterdAirsoft sorry my bad you forgot an apostrophe

  • @SketchySpartan Do you have no education? There is two forms of the word "your" there's "YOU'RE" meaning YOU ARM, it's a conjunction like "You are racist" and then there's "YOUR" meaning possession like "That's your fault". You obviously know nothing and you deserve to be put to death.

  • @YoureRacist you spelled "your" wrong

  • a clip is a piece of metal that holds the bullets together ie stripper ie en bloc they can be inserted in the gun complty ie garand or feed the rounds in ie sks or load magazines with a clip ie ar 15

  • @GunWebsites yeah i know that im just saying that it is not them being wrong because they know what it is it is a slang term and yes to people like you and i who do know that that is not the right name for it it is wrong

  • Thank you for posting this video. I'm sick of hearing the word clip when the moronic people I know are referencing magazines.

  • @The45Reason actually the M1 uses a clip that fits into an internal magazine. Once the last shot is fired the clip is popped out of the top. My M1891/30 uses clips as well to load if I so choose to but its still an internal magazine which holds the rounds. In the case of the M1 it uses a internal magazine that holds the clip as the cartridges within the clip is moved up and chambered. Its just a fancy clip to speed up reloads with a internal magazine.

  • The M1 uses Clips not mags
