The Four Tops Classic Golden Oldie hit.

And when I see the sign that points one way
The lot we used to pass by every day

Just walk away Renee
You won't see me follow you back home
The empty sidewalks on my block are not the same
You're not to blame

From deep inside the tears I'm forced to cry
From deep inside the pain I chose to hide

Just walk away Renee
You won't see me follow you back home
Now as the rain beats down upon my weary eyes
For me it cries

Your name and mine inside a heart upon a wall
Still finds a way to haunt me though they're so small

Just walk away Renee
You won't see me follow you back home
Now as the rain beats down upon my weary eyes
For me it cries

Just walk away Renee
You won't see me follow you back home
The empty sidewalks on my block are not the same
You're not to blame

  • @lindslovesgh ALRIGHT!!!

  • Absolutely love this as opposed to the Left Banke; listen to their passion here. Love it; thanks for sharing:-)

  • Love this version so much more than the Left Banke..Motown was such a class act inside and out , and this is a prime example..No one could do it like Levi and the Tops....growing up in Chicago, Motown ruled the airwaves..they will always be #1...Great memories here..

  • Great cover of the Left Banke classic. Both versions are first rate.

  • @lindslovesgh awww from the us great :))))))))))

  • The Left banks is good but not like this. Its the deep soulful voice of Levi here that does it!

  • Nothing ever beats an original or the 4-Tops

  • awesome

  • Dang, I don't even remember this version of this song but it is amazing! Love the original too but it's a totally different style then this. They're both great.

  • rod stewart named his daughter after this record

  • @57irvgold I love the Left Banke's version, for the sensitivity of it and the meaning it has for the keyboardist, but there is something to be said for the passion in this version by the Four Tops, and the backup singers sound almost angelic to me. They are both great, but it's just a great song.
