Todays African lions something has to be done about it, before there are no african lions.
The jaguar is the 2nd strongest feline in the world after the tiger.
Has a higher bite force then a lion, and is built like a tank, and has 3 times the muscle mass a lion has. Pound for pound a jaguars probably 2 1/2 times stronger then a Male lion.
Theres cats limbs to body ratio to muscle mass ratio is incredible.
Two fights have been recorded one when filming the movie zoo budapest, at the end they place tigers jaguars, lions together. During the filming a Jaguar killed a lion, a Tigress kills a hyena, that was shown in the movie. It's a pretty wild scene at the end of zoo budapest 1933, the jaguar lion fight was not show, but reported and talked about in several books. The movie centers around tigers and elephants hatred for one another.
2nd fight recorded was in the 1980s in South America, a jaguar kills a lion, and a lioness in this underground movie. A lot was shown in the video not just big cat fights, all sorts of fights, and fights between humans.
So many people underrate the jaguar it's sick.
It can kill adult anacondas, adult black caiman, and is pound for pound an army tank.
People really need to rethink what the jaguars about.

Male lion would decimate jaguar back home in the jungles of India we have tigers and jaguars on the open grasslands we have lions and I have been around long enough to know the lion is the most deadly it will impose it's will sometimes randomly killing whereas a tiger or jaguar kills not for dominance but for food lions are incredibly powerful and smart

Lions are bigger but the south american jaguar is stronger. Its jaws are the most powerful between the felines and it is the onli cat that can eat the bones of its victims. Also it hunts byitself and not with 10 other female lions. The jaguar can grab a 150 pound prey and jump a 10 feet wall without touching the edge.

I go for the jaguar.

@thengamam youre aware that pound for pound the jaguar is the strongest animal in the feline family and has the strongest bite in the feline family (second for mammals only behind hyenas) and there have been jaguars spotted up to the size of tigers.

foolish americans. the dont know anything about outside america.they have seen only american animals so they thinking these are the big animals. jaguar is just like a leopard. nothing more than that. Lion is far bigger than this jaguar and the Tiger is twice the size.

@bigwaverider1000 I find it hard to believe that the largest Jaguar ever recorded was only 315 lbs when the average jaguar(of the largest species of jaguars) are already about 300 lbs. Jaguars are pound for pound stronger than lions since their bite force are supposedly stronger than lions according to Nat Geo, but they should lose to lions since lions averages over 150 lb heavier than jaguars.
